DOC TYPE: PRODUCT SPECIFICATION · SCOPE: THE LIFE OF ONE PASSPORT

From first draft
to permanent record

A passport is not a page, it is a lifecycle: drafted with your suppliers, frozen in a signed record, carried by a code on the product, read differently by everyone who scans it, and maintained without ever rewriting history.

STAGE 01

Draft

A six-step wizard assembles the passport: identity, materials, environment, supply chain, documents, review.

The wizard

Six steps with per-field guidance, in your language. Every field records who entered it, so the passport carries authorship from the first keystroke.

Supplier contributions

Invite suppliers to fill their own slice under their own name. Their authorship is recorded; what they contributed is visibly theirs, not silently absorbed.

Document extraction

Upload certificates, LCA reports and test results. Extraction proposes field values with confidence thresholds, and you remain the author: nothing enters the passport unreviewed.

Batch import

Onboard a catalogue by CSV, validated against the passport schema before a single record is created.

STAGE 02

Publish

Publication is a commitment, and the platform treats it like one.

The publish gate

Incomplete or inconsistent passports do not publish. The gate names exactly what is missing, which protects you from publishing a claim you cannot stand behind.

The signed snapshot

First publication freezes a signed snapshot of the core record. It remains readable forever as the passport's "as originally declared" state.

Corrections, not rewrites

Later edits become recorded correction events. Nothing is silently overwritten, which is precisely what makes the record citable.

STAGE 03

Carry

The passport travels on the product, keyed to its unique identifier.

One scannable code

Every passport gets a QR code built on the product's unique identifier. A GS1-issued GTIN resolves through the standard Digital Link path; scanning lands on the public passport with no login.

Voluntary identity

No GTIN yet? The platform mints a permanent identity for the product, so a voluntary passport scans exactly like a regulated one.

Print-ready carriers

Labels and hang tags in print layouts, sized against the data-carrier standard. Batch and serial identity supported for unit-level passports.

STAGE 04

Read

One passport, five read levels. Each reader sees what their role entitles them to, and nothing more.

The tier ladder

Public, professional operator, end-of-life operator, supply chain, authority. Confidential data stays confidential without making the public page feel empty.

Six languages

Passports render in English, German, French, Spanish, Italian and Dutch, with machine-translated content honestly labelled as such.

Source on every claim

Each field shows who declared it and whether it has been verified. Self-declared and verified are kept honestly apart, everywhere.

STAGE 05

Maintain

A passport lives as long as the product does, and the platform keeps it honest the whole way.

Living record

Update data as your supply chain evolves. The correction trail keeps every prior state readable; withdrawal and recall states are first-class, not hacks.

Scan analytics

See how often your passports are scanned and how complete your data is, per product and across the catalogue.

Team and roles

Colleagues, suppliers and certifiers each work in their own scoped surface. No shared logins, no over-broad access.
